We’re going back to college! Well, not exactly. But we’ve recently become a member of the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) for college comedians on our roster.
Our membership in NACA will allow us to get directly in touch with talent buyers from colleges and universities across the United States. We’ll be working hard to get our company name in front of the very people who program campus events and activities.
Since college programming boards change from year to year, it’s important to continually renew contacts and gain as much exposure as possible. Being an associate member of NACA will help us to do that.
Why is our membership in NACA a big deal for you, as a working comedian? This initiative is going to open up many more opportunities for college and campus bookings. There are over 950 member colleges and universities in NACA – and all of them stage countless events every year.
That’s a pretty big pie, and as a comedian on our roster, you’re going to have a better shot at grabbing a piece of that pie.
College events are a superb training ground for up-and-coming comedians. Clean comedians are something we specialize in. Too many agencies will book a nightclub act who is trying “clean it up”/ This is not a recipe for success. We book lots of comedians for Christmas party entertainment. The big thing with this form of entertainment is finding a comedian that is right for your group. A comedian can generally read his or her crowd and adjust a show around them. However I think it is best to book the right comedian for the group the first time. Christmas party entertainment is usually the one big form of a “show” the company employees will do together all year. I get people tell me all the time “we want clean comedians”. When I ask them there definition of clean is I get dozens of different answers. Anywhere from just no swearing to PG-13 rated movies to not too many F words! Yes clean comedians vary depending on your opinion. Over the last decade I’ve found October is by far the busiest time in the comedian booking season. We are slammed with clients searching for the right kind of entertainment for the company Christmas party and many of our nightclubs take off summer and come back strong in the fall.
